By: Suhail Malik (Member Bay Point, CA Majlis)
A great servant of our Jama’at, Chaudhary Hameed Ullah Sahib, passed away on February 7th, 2021. Inna lillahe wa Inna ilaihe rajeoon. He was currently serving as the Wakil-e-A’la in Tehrik-e-Jadid Rabwah. He was also serving as the Afsar Jalsa Salana till his demise.
My first memory related to Chaudhry Hameed Ullah Sahib was from the time when I used to live in Abu Dhabi in late 1990’s. We had a small and loving jama’at there, and every now and then, we would get a visitor or two from Qadian, Rabwah, or some other part of the world who would be stopping over on their way. One day, our Ameer Jama’at, Chaudhry Munir Ahmad Sahib, announced that we will be hosting a guest from Rabwah, Chaudhary Hameed Ullah Sahib, in the coming days. A meeting for the jama’at members with Chaudhary Hameed Ullah Sahib was organized, and we all gathered for the program.
This was my first time to meet Chaudhary Sahib. He wore a simple Shalwar Kameez and Jinnah cap and delivered a very inspiring speech delivering the key points regarding Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IV (ra) and his vision for the middle eastern Jama’ats. I was awe-struck by his soft tone but powerful speech. He answered the questions from the audience in a very learned manner.
On another occasion later, we had the honor to host Chaudhary Sahib again. This time he was on his way to London and stopped over in Abu Dhabi on his way. The Abu Dhabi Jama’at expressed their desire that since they could not build a mosque locally, they would like to sponsor a mosque anywhere our beloved Imam, Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IV (ra) wished, and they contributed 12 thousand pounds for this purpose. Ameer Sahib requested Chaudhary Sahib to convey the desire to our beloved Imam. On his return journey, Chaudhary Sahib stopped over again and conveyed that Huzur (ra) had accepted the offer and a mosque will be built at a selected location in Africa. Huzur (ra) had also mentioned that this amount will be good enough for a small mosque but with 15 thousand pounds, a larger mosque could be built which could serve the needs for years to come. The Abu Dhabi jama’at members were so inspired that during the same meeting, they pledged for more funds and the amount quickly got to 20 thousand pounds. Chaudhary Sahib offered thankful prayers with tears in his eyes and a soft smile and said that this is the exact example of coming forward to the call of the Imam of our time.
May Allah grant him a high place in paradise and enable us to follow his example in obeying and serving our Imam always (Ameen). Belief in our living God

Imagine losing your job suddenly during the pandemic and all the insecurity which it can bring on to your life. I faced this situation at the end of October 2020, when I lost my job due to sudden budget cuts by my employer without much advance notice. Since the pandemic started, I had been blessed to have a job in Information Technology sector which allowed me to work remotely form home. The sudden loss of job naturally brings some uncertainty, but hardship is also a time which can strengthen the belief in God.
I brushed up my resume and started applying for jobs right away. One decision which I had to make was about cutting down on expenses. One such expense was Chanda as I had enrolled for monthly automated payment via the online Chanda payment system. I had two options. First option was to contact the finance team and request to stop the automated payments for the time being. Second option was to have complete trust in Allah and continue paying the Chanda. I decided to keep faith in Allah, prayed to Him to bless me with a better job, and continued paying my Chanda. After over a month of job searching and interviewing, Allah blessed me with not one, but two good job offers. On top of it, these job offers paid much higher than my previous job. Alhamdolillah. I prayed to Allah and accepted one of those offers. I contacted the Jama’at Finance department and updated my monthly Chanda amount with my new income budget amount.
Most of us have seen these signs of our living God throughout our life which strengthen our faith in Allah. One way of creating a strong connection with God is entering into the Wasiyyat scheme, started by Promised Messiah (as). I have been blessed to join this scheme since I was sixteen years old, and I can say without any doubt that Allah has blessed me a lot for being part of the Wasiyyat scheme. I invite everyone who has not yet joined this blessed scheme to come forward and join so you can experience yourselves the blessings and prayers which Promised Messiah (as) has written about the righteous people who will join this scheme. The journey starts with reading the book Al-Wasiyyat. May Allah always keep us on right path (Ameen).
