Assalamo Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatohu

On January 23-24, 2015, the Gambian Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC) issued a press release that levels baseless allegations against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.  The allegations were then publicized on national television and radio, which threatened the well-being of Ahmadi Muslims, and more broadly, risk disrupting a peaceful Gambian society.  The press release called upon people to refrain from any kind of social or business relations with Ahmadis, whom the GSIC labeled kafirs, or disbelievers.  

Pursuant to Huzoor (aba)'s directive, all Jama'ats should write letters to the President of The Gambia, Minister of Justice and Attorney General and the Minister of Foreign Affairs urging them to protect Ahmadi Muslims in The Gambia from slander and social boycott.  

Attached please find a sample letter that Jama'at members can use (modify the addressee based on the official); and (2) a list of the appropriate officials in The Gambia to send letters to.  

Note, the only operational FAX # is of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General.  Otherwise, please use the email addresses provided.  Please modify and personalize the sample letter so as to avoid mass duplication.

This is an urgent priority based on a directive from Huzoor (aba).  We need to provide a report to Huzoor (aba) by March 1.
