A message from Sadr Majlis Ansarullah USA

Dear Brothers, Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rehmatullah,

Tonight, we enter yet another new year with the hope that it will be better than the year before. Last year at this time, we were hoping that the pandemic would be behind us. Instead, Covid-19 continued to command our lives with its turbulent waves throughout the year. At this time, we don't fully know if or when we will be completely free of Covid-19, but we certainly know enough how not to let it steer our lives anymore. This was the message which our beloved Imam conveyed to us on December 4th in the virtual meeting with the national Amla of Majlis Ansarullah USA. Responding to a question of Qaid Sahib Tabligh, Huzur said:

"We don't know how long this Covid pandemic will remain, right? So, we cannot stop our work because of this. We have to explore new ways and means to expand our message, to spread our message."

Although Huzur suggested exploring new ways of Tabligh specifically in relation to the pandemic, this message is applicable to all aspects of our lives. The world has seen bigger calamities in the past and whenever humanity faces unprecedented challenges, it advances to cope with the problem at hand. The Covid-19 vaccine is one such example of remarkable human progress in such a short period of time. As a result, even though the virus continues to evolve, many pre-pandemic routine activities can be resumed with the proper protocols.

There is no doubt that science has come to humanity's rescue during every challenge it has faced since the beginning of the time. However, science can only improve the quality of human life in this material world. This short-lived life will be over for each of us sooner rather than later and after that will begin the truly everlasting life. And who knows better than us that in the same way as Allah Ta'ala has enabled the human mind to progress in the face of worldly hardships, He has also provided the means for humanity's spiritual progress. This is possible through His direct guidance via His chosen ones. As followers of the Imam of the time, we not only benefit from scientific progress but also attempt to attain the pleasure of our Creator in this world as well as the next.

Since the beginning of this pandemic, Huzur has been advising us all to take heed to our Creator's warnings and continue to transform our lives to attain nearness and pleasure of Allah Ta'ala. The simple and plain recipe to do so is to fulfill the rights of both the Creator and our fellow human beings in every aspect of our lives. Only then can we become a true guide and an example for a world that is not fully cognizant of the underlying Divine warning behind this pandemic.

My dear brothers, as we enter in the year 2022, let's make a firm promise to ourselves that we will make changes in our lifestyles - no matter how small but in the right direction. Whatever promises we make, may Allah Ta'ala enable us all to deliver on them so that when we look back at this time next year, each one of us can discern the progress made as individuals for this world as well as the hereafter.

I wish you and your families a very happy new year. May Allah Ta'ala keep you all in His Protection and make 2022 a year of true happiness, prosperity and peace. Ameen.
