We Hear, and We Obey

A few days before the national Ijtima we received “A message from Sadr Majlis” discussing the spirit of sacrifice in the words of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (may Allah be his helper), "If everyone who possesses a car—that they utilize for worldly matters—uses it for gaining God’s pleasure, then the purpose of these vehicles will become the service of Islam and the individual will gain both worldly and religious rewards."

I had intended to rent a car to drive 400+ miles to the Ijtima, with other members of our Majlis. Having received this message, I told my wife that there was a message for her from Sadr Majlis. I made her read the message. She understood my intention and her immediate response was "1000%." She told me to take her car to the Ijtima. This was in spite of the fact that just a few days prior we had decided not to take her car on long travels as we had racked up double the allowed miles in the first year of the lease.

In the morning, when I stepped into the garage to place my bag in the car, I saw that my wife was detailing the car. I was very grateful that not only did she offer her car but also made sure it was perfectly clean for us to enjoy the travel. This is the blessing of Khilafat that enables us to say, “we hear, and we obey.” Alhamdulillah!
