Our Children Are Watching Us
Faheem Younus Qureshi, Sadr Majlis
Dear Ansar Brothers,
As-Salamu ‘Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah
Our children are watching us, reading us. Just like we used to watch and read the body language of our parents during the difficult times of the 50s, and 70s, and the 80s.
It is important—especially during these days—that our children feel the strength of our faith in Allah alone. They need to see us praying. Let's not waste excessive time watching the chaos on cable news and vain talk to pull us away from the source of peace: Khilafat.
The Promised Messiah (may peace be on him) said:
"Zameen tumhara kuchch bhi bigaar nahee saktee agar tumhara aasman say pukhta ta'aluq hay."
Translation: “The Earth can do you no harm provided your relationship with the heaven is firm."
These are the days to tap into our original sources and infuse strength into our families from the words of the Holy Qur’an, the life of the Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be on him) and the teachings of his beloved Messiah.
Just like Allah—yes Allah—is mobilizing the hearts of good Americans towards Muslims, He can and will mobilize even bigger changes. A believer remains optimistic. A believer maintains absolute faith and conviction in God's powers at all times.
Surely, there is ease after hardship. (The Holy Qur’an, 94 [Al-Inshirah]:6)
Remember, our children will remember how we carried ourselves during these days.
Wassalam,
